Brennan Gilpatrick is a writer and filmmaker with a penchant for genre blending, collaboration, and juggling as many projects as possible without driving himself to the brink of madness.
Fueled with an unhealthy obsession for storytelling, Brennan relocated from Indiana to California "pioneer-style" to earn his degrees in Film Production and Screenwriting at Loyola Marymount University. While in school, Brennan's thesis film "YouSuck" won the 2017 Bernard Abbene Comedy Writing Award at Film Outside The Frame.
As a writer, Brennan operates in a wide variety of mediums. His debut novel Battery Life, a post-apocalyptic epic with a darkly comedic tone, is due for release in May 2023 under Blackstone Publishing. His pilot screenplay "Definitely Cursed" won the 2019 ScreenCraft Animation Script Competition. He currently works at Starbreeze Studios as a narrative writer for the long-running video game Payday 2.
As a director, Brennan has created promos for brands like Sony, Hilton Hotels and T-Mobile, as well as music videos for artists like Lisa Loeb and Kirue. He's also produced a series of short films that includes the Crypt TV-acquired video Bubbles – which has amassed over 1 million views across the brand's social platforms.
When not sitting at his computer with terrible posture, Brennan enjoys playing video games, exploring his current home of Stockholm, Sweden, and eating large quantities of hummus all by himself.
His current favorite word is "bioluminescent." Just in case you were curious.
